Happy Valentine’s Day!
Can you imagine what it would be like to finally be able to communicate in a love language that really speaks and resonates with your partner and also have your partner use your own love language to communicate with you?
A lot of studies have been done on the language of love and there have been countless books written on the subject, including a popular one that refers to the 5 Languages of Love! Did you know that NLP has an easy way to figure out what your preferred love language is? Here is the simple question that you can ask yourself first and then your partner…’the last time you experienced love, was it something you saw, heard of felt?’ The answer will lead you to the preferred modality – in other words, did I experience love when someone gave me something (a gift, flowers, something I could see); when I heard them say something (‘you are the love of my life’) or when they kissed, hugged and caressed you?
Frequently we are communicating at cross-purposes because the partners are speaking ‘foreign languages’ and the message just doesn’t get through and we end up believing that the other person doesn’t feel the same way we do! So, why not try out this simple exercise and then speak to your partner in their love language…you could be completely surprised at the difference it makes to your relationship!
Have fun and enjoy your week!
